疑似相関とは、2つの変数間に観察される相関が、実際には何らかの外部要因によって生じている偶然の関係である場合を指します。つまり、2つの変数が直接的な因果関係を持っていないにも関わらず、統計的に相関が見られる現象を指します。

A spurious correlation is when the observed correlation between two variables is actually a chance relationship caused by some external factor. In other words, it refers to a phenomenon in which two variables are statistically correlated even though they have no direct causal relationship.
