[KIT]Our Lifespan would be extended with 4-5 cups of coffee !?

Coffee wasn’t considered a healthy drink until a while ago

These days, we can see a lot of information that coffee is good for your health. However, this is a recent trend, and a while ago, there were many opinions that it could be harmful to health. Why was drinking coffee thought to be unhealthy, and why the trend has been changed. Let’s unravel the history a little.

Why coffee was considered unhealthy

Coffee is high in caffeine. Caffeine has wakefulness and addiction, also stimulates the sympathetic nerves and boosts our moods. Due to the nature of caffeine, coffee has a slightly unhealthy image like drugs.

One article published in 2012

In 2012, the New England Journal of Medicine published an article analyzing the relationship between coffee and our lifespan based on a health survey of more than 400,000 people (*Reference 1).

They found that 10% of men and 15% of women drank more than 6 cups of coffee a day, significantly lowering the risk of death compared to not drinking coffee. The risk of death from heart disease, respiratory illness, stroke, infectious diseases, diabetes, accidents, etc. was all found to be lower in coffee drinkers.

Summary

Therefore, drinking 3-4 cups of coffee a day will certainly reduce the risk of total mortality by 10-20%. This effect is recognized regardless of racial differences.
However, drinking too much has an adverse effect on the body. Decide how much you drink per a day and enjoy your coffee time!!
