Are you a tourist visiting Cambodia for the first time, but you don’t know how to get around Cambodia or where to find this service?

Don’t worry.

Here are some methods of travelling that you can use to get around Cambodia.

  1. Rickshaw

Rickshaw has become more and more popular in Cambodia due the convenience and the affordable price of the service. A rickshaw can fit up to three passengers with no luggage, but two passengers is more recommended as they would have more space to sit comfortably. Rickshaw is perfect for travelling within the city or provinces and you can easily book a rickshaw through Passapp, Grab, Tada or many other applications.

  1. Tuk Tuk

Many of you might have heard of this popular method to get around Cambodia. Tuk Tuk offers more space than Rickshaw but at a higher price as well. You can ride up to six people or more than that if you know how to squeeze. But five to six would be the best number if you want a comfortable ride. To find Tuk Tuk, simply walk outside of your accommodation, place of visit or book though Passapp or Grab.

  1. Cyclo

This traditional way of travelling in Cambodia, though might not be the most efficient, is the best way you can experience the 50s in Cambodia. We saw a decline in Cyclo in recent years. However, the government has worked hard to keep this transportation method alive to sustain the tourism in Phnom Penh.

  1. Intercity Coach

If you want to get from one province to another, intercity coach might be the best way. Be noted to travel through trust services such as Capitol, Virak Buntham and Larryta. Using the street called vans or buses is not recommended as they usually overpack vehicles and stop at multiple destinations which may delay your trip. The condition of the street called vans or buses might be very poor and often the vehicles might break down half way.

  1. Chartered Service

There are many chartered services available in Cambodia such as 2World Travel and A1 Car Rental. You can either rent a car with or without a driver. An English speaking driver can also be requested from these services. This method is recommended if you have a large group or has small children as you can go anywhere you want and have enough space on your vehicles without having to share with strangers. Furthermore, with chartered service you can decide your whole trip, when to pick up and drop off and go to all the places that you want.

  1. Bamboo Train

Bamboo trains are the most popular way to travel in Battambang. Although it might not get you far and is not the most efficient way of travelling, bamboo trains are prized for its unique experience. Riding a bamboo train on the train rail while enjoying the breeze and mountain view along the way is the main attraction that tourists come for. However, you need to be ready to get off the road any time a train is coming on its rightful rail and get on again after it leaves.
