[KIT] How to make perfect and smooth caramel pudding

Dessert is a portion of comfort food to cheer up your mood on a hard day. Not only that but it is also a perfect dessert to have while hanging out with friends and family, dessert for holiday tea with your beloved people, and the perfect dessert after dinner. So why not try to make it at home? It is simple and easy to make. Plus it only needs a few ingredients which are normally the simple ingredients that everyone already has at their home. 

In this article, I will share with everyone the simple recipe for this pudding. Trust me, you will be amazed by how simple it is to make this pudding. The pudding will come out nicely, it is smooth, creamy, and caramelly. When I first make this pudding, I was really surprised at how good it comes out. It is just as good as the store-bought one. So here, we go

Ingredients

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • A drop of vanilla extract (Optional)

How to make caramel pudding

Firstly, you have to make caramel syrup first. Meltdown the sugar by putting 2 spoonfuls of white sugar on the pan then turn the stove to medium heat. Put a little bit of water into the pan so the sugar can melt more easily. Stir the sugar so it can melt and it won’t stick together and get burn. When the sugar turns into dark orange, turn off the heat and quickly pour some water into the pan then quickly put on the lid, or else you will get burn. (If you like the bitter taste of caramel, let the sugar turn to brown before pouring the water into the pan) Then, pour the caramel syrup into the bowl and let it cool down in the refrigerator. 

To make the pudding mixture; first crake one whole egg into the bowl then put one egg yolk into the same ball. (For the egg white separated, you can use it as you prefer because we won’t be using it for the pudding anymore. You can use it to make fried rice, or turn it to the mask sheet) Whisk the eggs together, then put the rest of the sugar, a pinch of salt, a drop of vanilla extract (optional) into the bowl and whisk it well. 

Heat up the milk until it warm enough. Then slowly pour some of the warm milk into the mixture and whisk it. Do not pour too much because warm milk can cook the egg mixture. Repeat until all the milk is poured into the bowl. Mix it until it is well combined. 

Slowly drain the egg mixture into another bowl or cup. Then slowly pour the mixture into the caramel cup through the drainer. Cover the bowl with aluminum foil. 

Boil the water and put a tofu cloth or towel into the boiling water. Put the pudding bowl into the pot on the tofu cloth or cup, but make sure the water is just haft of the pudding bowl. Turn the stove to low heat. Steam the pudding for 15 minutes. 

After 15 minutes take the pudding out of the pot, let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature then let it chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Now you’ll have a smooth, creamy, caramelly, and perfect caramel pudding. You can decorate it with some strawberry or blueberry as your preference.
