Make your goals manageable
Uncertain goal setting and over-acceptance can lead to anger. Workaholism can lead to fatigue, loss of interest and motivation, and a desire to escape.
Do not expect yourself to be perfect
A one-year study in 2017 that looked at college students between 1989 and 2016 found that there has been an increase in excellence over the past few years. “Young people are now facing a more competitive environment, uncertain expectations, parental attention and control than previous generations,” the researchers noted. Perfection makes them start lazy to do it.
Positive Thoughts Instead of Negative Thoughts
Negative self-talk can make your efforts unattainable in all areas of life. Telling yourself that you are lazy is a form of negative self-talk.
Create an action plan
Planning how you will get done can help you get there more easily. Be sure of the amount of time, effort, and other factors needed to achieve your goals and create an action plan.
Use your strengths
Take a moment to think about what your strengths are when setting goals or preparing to tackle tasks. Try to apply them to different parts of the task to help you get the job done.
For my experiences:
When I was in high school, I used to be a lazy person. I did not do anything until someone forced me to do it or otherwise I leave it. I did not do my homework by myself because I copied it form other. I came to school late every morning and I did not care about it. Sometimes, I did not came to school because I could not get up. But one day I realized, I failed a semester exam. Then I decided to stop being so lazy.
First: In the morning my first goal is to came to school early. It was a small task but I was very prove of it. I did it every day and I was never late again.
Second: When I do something, I always start it from the basic. I though that I have no talent. I always stay behind everyone but I never give up. And one day, I finally pass a high school exam.
Third: I never think something is negative while I’m doing it because I knew what is the result when I though about it a negative way.
Fourth: One day, I realized my talent is that I never give up. I always the last one but I am not the fail one. I always think about this when I nearly to give up on something. And it helps me to achieve a lot of goal.
