Internet Protocol Version 6の略で、インターネット上でデバイスを識別・通信するためのアドレス方式です。 IPv4の枯渇問題を解決するために導入され、IPv4のアドレス長が32ビットであるのに対して、IPv6では4倍の128ビットです。これにより、膨大な数のデバイスへアドレスを割り当てることが可能となっています。

Abbreviation for Internet Protocol Version 6, which is an addressing method for identifying and communicating with devices on the Internet. It was introduced to solve the IPv4 exhaustion problem, and while the address length of IPv4 is 32 bits, in IPv6 it is 128 bits, four times as long. This makes it possible to allocate addresses to a huge number of devices.
